New land law required to avoid increased homelessness

Last week I was interviewed by Reuters on the need for a new land law to prevent human rights abuses. Unregulated development combined with a lack of city planning always results in mass migration from the rural to urban. Myanmar is experiencing the first stages of this urbanisation as people move in search of work, to flee conflict or other disasters. A new land law must recognise people’s right to land and protect against forced evictions. For more please see the story at:
